We have a location in North Central San Antonio, and also provide telehealth. We provide high-quality, private-pay and insurance services to adults, couples, and children/adolescents. Requirements include being fully licensed in the State of Texas, preferably with private practice experience.

The ideal candidate would like a private practice atmosphere. Compensation is percentage based on income received and paid out twice monthly. The ideal candidate must have a niche(s) market for counseling services preferably trauma, anxiety/depression, life transitions and couples. We aim to serve children, adults and couples in these niches. Although Breath of Hope will offer referrals, the candidate must be willing to market themselves to grow their referral base and recognition in the community. Candidates must be growth minded, collaborative and interested in a long term experience at the practice.

Job Description: Professional Mental Health Therapist at Breath of Hope Professional Counseling

Position Title: Professional Mental Health Therapist

Location: Shavano Park, Texas

Employment Type: Full-time (18+ clients)

Reports To: Practice Owner/Senior Therapist

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our private practice. The ideal candidate must possess strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of various therapeutic modalities, and a commitment to providing high-quality care. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and group therapy sessions to clients with diverse backgrounds and mental health needs. We are looking for someone who specializes in grief/trauma and loss and couples counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Assessment and Diagnosis:

o Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to gather detailed information about clients' mental health histories and current concerns.

o Utilize diagnostic tools and criteria to accurately diagnose mental health conditions.

• Treatment Planning and Implementation:

o Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.

o Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

o Conduct individual, couple, and group therapy sessions.

• Case Management:

o Maintain detailed and accurate client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

o Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

o Coordinate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive care.

• Client Advocacy and Support:

o Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.

o Offer psychoeducation to clients about mental health conditions and treatment options.

• Professional Development:

o Stay current with developments in the field of mental health through ongoing education and professional development.

o Participate in regular supervision and case consultation meetings.

Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements:

o Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Licensure:

o Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

• Experience:

o A minimum of 6 months post licensure.

o Experience in private practice settings is preferred.

• Skills:

o Proficiency in a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapies and Couples therapy; Gottman or EFT training preferred.

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

o Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.

o Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
